I’m delighted to announce that I’m going back on the road, and starting to book gigs again after lockdown. Initial dates coming soon, but in the mean time here’s all the info you need on my new live set…
“Patterns Various” is my new album for solo sax and electronics, and blurs the lines between minimalist classical, jazz and electronic music. Listen on the player below or on store of your choice here:
“One of the great sax innovators of our time”
Louder Than War
Tom Ravenscroft BBC 6 Music
“Wonderful – part of my best new music for 2021”
Stuart Maconie BBC 6 Music
“Sparks and colours painted so skillfully”
Elizabeth Alker BBC Radio 3
“An album which will be looked back on as a chronicle of our times”
The live set features tracks from my album and sounds just like the LP, featuring a range of atmospheric, energetic and cyclical compositions with plenty of improvisation thrown in for good measure. In between each work I tell the stories behind the music, making things more intimate and personal – this aspect which has gone down really well with audiences so far. The full show lasts up to 60 minutes including chat, but I’m happy to do shorter sets (25+ mins) to fit around your needs and in addition to headline opportunities I’m particularly interested in tour support and festival slots currently.
Below is a YouTube playlist including a highlights reel and some full track performances from recent live streams:
My live show consists of just me, my sax and one pedal board. Tech wise it’s just 2 simple ¼ inch jacks out that can be plugged straight into your house desk / PA system. Sound check is quick and simple, I use a clip-on mic through my own mini mixer, and don’t even need any monitors as I perform with headphones. Alternatively I can also bring my own small PA if required, please get in touch with your requirements.
The album has been well recieved across press and radio (BBC 6 Music, Radio 3, Radio X, Jazz FM, etc), featured in several playlists and a track was also licensed for a recent compilation on the respected Nonclassical label. You can read more about radio and press coverage here, and please contact me if you need any more information including press pack, photos, campaign summary and biography.
